Many rural and city roads were planned and built long before the large modern trucks of today were even imagined. Truck drivers must continually be on guard for low clearances, truck restrictions, weight restrictions, local truck routes, etc.

Always check your directions or the directions your GPS gives you against a trucker's atlas.

If you find yourself in a situation with a low clearance, weight restricted road or a non truck route - STOP. If you are unable to make a turn to avoid, call the police for help. Don't try to back down a road or direct traffic without help from the proper authorities.
